1996 Fields Soccer Complex
Hwy 280, 3 miles south of Hwy 119, Chelsea
The 1996 Fields has more than 50 acres on site including six soccer fields behind the Sports Blast facility. The fields have played host to numerous youth soccer tournaments attracting some of the top soccer players from across the nation. In addition, the fields have hosted the U.S. Women’s National Team, along with teams from Brazil, England, and Australia as a practice facility while competing at Birmingham’s Legion Field.

Adaptive Aquatics is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the introduction, teaching, and advancement of adapted water skiing for children and adults with physical “disAbilities.” Over the years, they have taught skiers with a broad range of disabilities including individuals with cerebral palsy, spinal cord injuries, spina bifida, muscular dystrophy, multiple sclerosis, post polio, kernicterus, acquired brain injuries, amputations, and visual impairment.
Alabama 4-H Lodging/Conference Center

The Alabama 4-H Center is a full service conference facility located on Lay Lake with accommodations for individuals or groups of up to 200 people, meeting facilities to suit your specific needs, full service dining and refreshments for breaks. Beeswax Creek Park is located on Lay Lake and has many water based activities such as two paved boat launch facilities with a pier, two floating fishing piers; one is handicap accessible, two picnic pavilions, and benches along the lake front with grills, a basketball court, a walking trail, and restrooms.

45 Woodland Road, Harpersville
The drive-in features two 60ft-by-26ft movie screens made of corrugated tin painted with super flat white paint. Facing the two screens, which allow the showing of two movies at once, is space for 150 vehicles in each side for a total of 300 vehicles.
Karl C. Harrison Museum of George Washington

The Karl C. Harrison Museum of George Washington houses one of the largest privately owned collections of George and Martha Washington memorabilia outside of Mt. Vernon. The extensive collection focuses on art and artifacts from the colonial period through 1865.
This 12,000 acre lake has 289 miles of shoreline and has played host to the Bass Masters Classic Tournament. Since being impounded in 1914 by the Alabama Power Company, Lay Lake is best known for its spotted bass and largemouth bass fishing.

Miller Cheese House

Miller Cheese House offers a fine selection of homemade jellies, butters, preserves, jams, cheese, and other fine sauces. Mr. Harold Miller, during his dairy days, would often travel north to buy cattle. During these travels, he often dealt with the Amish and would purchase products from them for his family and friends. Due to the demand of such fine products, he decided to start selling them himself in a small one room store. The business has since grown and now offers more than 80 different products.

Old Baker Farm
1041 Farmingdale Road, Harpersville
Homesteaded more than 200 years ago, the Old Baker Farm withstood the perils of the Civil War and remains today as a traditional family farm, growing crops such as cotton, corn, and pumkins. The farm has been worked by the Baker family for more than 100 years and was one of only 12 farms featured in the USDA 2000 calendar entitled “Millenium Celebration of Century Farms.” Since its founding, the Old Baker Farm has seen six generations of the Baker family.
Old Quinn Cemetery
Hwy 47, Chelsea
This cemetery was established June 2, 1849, by a veteran of the War of 1812, Loftin Quinn. The cemetery is listed on the Alabama Historic Cemetery Register. The historic sign was erected by the friends of Old Quinn Burying Ground in 2004.

Shelby County Museum and Archives
1854 Old Courthouse (N. Main Street), Columbiana
We are located in the Old Shelby County Courthouse built in 1854 in Columbiana, Alabama. This building has been designated a historic landmark by the National Register of Historic Places.
Shelby Iron Works
County Road 42, Shelby
One of only two such mills existing in the South at the outbreak of the Civil War, this plant produced the armor that covered the hull of the hull of the famous Confederate gunboat “Tennessee.” The park features living history demonstrations and tours by request.
Shelby Springs Confederate Cemetery
Intersection of Hwy 42 and Hwy 25, Shelby
The Shelby Springs Confederate Cemetery was established in Shelby Springs when the Confederate Hospital was moved from Vicksburg, Mississippi. There are 277 Confederate Veterans buried in the cemetery which is owned by the Shelby County Historical Society.
